1. Requirements

For the class beginning medicine in September 2012 (M.D. expected in 2016):

Admission to the LAU School of Medicine will be based on composite evaluation of the following:

Competitive overall grade average and GPA score on graduation (bachelor’s degree in science or art, B.S./B.A.).
Overall average on the required core courses in science (34 credits) (see below).
Competitive scores on the MCAT examination.
Performance in the admission interview.

3. Dates to remember

Application Deadline:

Early Acceptances: January 31, 2013

Regular Acceptances: March 31, 2013

Financial Aid application deadline: January 31, 2013 (for early admission), and March 31, 2013 (for regular admission)
MCAT scores should be available by May 31, 2013

For the class beginning in September 2013:

Orientation day: August 30 2013 (Date to be confirmed)

First day of classes: September 02, 2013

4. Interview

Appointments for interviews are given after members of the LAUMS Admissions Committee review all completed applications, and based on the review result, an applicant may be invited to the school for an interview.

Tuition and financial aid (student loans)

For 2012-2013, the yearly tuition fee is USD$ 26,250. Students enrolled in a certain academic year will pay the same yearly tuition fee for the four years of medical study.
