Clinical Program

While “hands on” clinical learning will always be a hallmark of medical education, it is clear that we require new and innovative strategies to make optimal use of available clinical learning opportunities, to augment them with modern educational technology and creative pedagogical methodology, and to develop systems for ensuring the highest quality of learning outcomes. Our faculty will be actively engaged at all levels in exploring curricular, strategic, and pragmatic innovations toward ensuring that the next generation of physicians enters the workforce fully prepared to meet the professional practice requirements now and in the future.

Clinical Affiliates

Our affiliated teaching hospitals will be true partners in the academic enterprise, with academic support a fundamental element of their vision and mission and with faculty members integrally involved in their operational decision-making. Each affiliated institution should be a financially viable organization able to attract, develop and retain the intellectual capital needed to excel in teaching and research while providing a 21st-century practice role model for our students, residents and fellows. In addition, the network of clinical affiliates will allow students to experience a variety of in- and out-patient clinical settings.

This interaction between our academic program and clinical partners is both a challenge and an enormous opportunity for synergy; a synergy that will expand the development of enhanced learning opportunities and the delivery of clinical services. Our academic programs will serve as business role models, as well as clinical role models, for our trainees.
