About

Jacques Mokhbat, MD

Clinical Professor
Chair, Department of Internal Medicine

There are three elements that have been essential to my outlook throughout my career. First I wish to emphasise, in the education of students and residents, the importance of patient-related issues — particularly the specific complaints and signs of suffering — in order to address specifically those elements that are important for diagnosis without immediately resorting to expensive and extensive evaluations, while at the same time offering to the patient the care that he/she really is looking for.  Second, I would like to stress the humane dimension of a physician who should respect and care for his/her patient and accept all differences and complaints with open-mindedness and love. Third, a physician cannot be complete without developing his/her research aptitude and expanding the knowledge of medicine for his/her sake and for future generations.
