The LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine at Lebanese American University offers a dynamic four-year medical curriculum leading to the M.D. degree, in preparation for postgraduate residency training. The medical program follows completion of an undergraduate university bachelor’s degree, and has defined premedical requirements for admission. The school of medicine welcomes applications from both local and external candidates.
Graduate Medical Education
The expanding programs in Graduate Medical Education at the school of medicine and its medical centers offer clinical training in a large number of specialty areas. The GME Office invites candidates to explore its 17 residency programs and 7 post-residency fellowship programs.
Continuing Medical Education
The school of medicine’s vibrant Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) involves its faculty and residents in a full range of professional-development activities. Local, regional, and internationally-based physicians are also encouraged to participate in conferences and workshops sponsored through the CME.
Interprofessional Medical Education
Students in all four years of LAU’s medical program join pharmacy, nursing, nutrition, and social-work students in a series of interprofessional educational activities. The IPE website showcases the elements of this important and progressive program, which emphasizes the principles of professionalism and patient safety.
