Highlights on Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA)
Welcome Message
It is our pleasure to invite you to join us for the first LAU Gilbert & Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine anesthesiology meeting, titled “Highlights on Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA)” to be held Saturday 19 January, 2019 at the LAU Byblos campus.
With the rapid development of novel interventional techniques in cardiology, radiology, gastroenterology, pulmonary medicine and other areas, NORA has come to form a major percentage of total anesthesia cases. This change presents challenges for the anesthesiologist on several fronts in terms of the logistics of working in an unfamiliar area, the frequency of patient comorbidity and familiarity with new procedures.
The objective of this multidisciplinary meeting is to review these novel procedures in NORA and to discuss their anesthetic implications on patients’ safety and quality of care. Our LAU anesthesiologists & interventionalists and our invited guest speaker Dr. Massimo Lamperti, Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and Chief of General Anesthesiology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi will share their expertise. The meeting will conclude with a workshop on simulation-based education as applied to NORA, at the LAU-Clinical Simulation Center.
Registration is free. Since space is limited, kindly register by January 9, 2019. Please follow this link for the program details & registration.
For further information, please call 01-200800, ext. 5830.
