We invite you to participate in the “Rare Disease Day 2023” conference that aims to raise awareness and update participants on the latest advances in clinical and molecular diagnosis as well as the latest available treatments. This conference will be held at the LAU Beirut Campus Irwin Hall Auditorium.

International and National renowned speakers will join us in person. Guest speaker professor Andoni Urtizberea from the Institute de Myologie of Paris will discuss Neuromuscular diseases, therapeutic and technological advances. He will be joined by Dr. Valerie Delague from Marseille Medical Genetics who will talk about hereditary neuropathies. Dr. Abeer Hani, Pediatric Neurologist from the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine, will discuss Orphan Diseases and what can be done to help the families. Dr. Hicham Mansour, Pediatric Neurologist at the Saint George Hospital University Hospital, will tackle the topic Pediatric Neurometabolic diseases: prevention and treatment. Dr. Eliane Chouery and Dr. Cybel Mehawej from the LAU Department of Human Genetics will present the latest molecular diagnosis technologies and discuss indication and clinical cases.

The target audience for this activity include all healthcare professionals, faculty, medical students, residents and staff. The invitation will also be extended to the Lebanese Order of Nursing, Lebanese Order of Pharmacy and Lebanese Order of Physicians.
