It is our pleasure to invite you to join us for this live webinar entitled “Spinal Muscular Atrophy: Curative treatments do exist. Can we afford them?”. This webinar is organized by the departments of Pediatrics and Neurology at the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine and is endorsed by the Lebanese Society of Neurology and the Lebanese Pediatric Society.
This webinar is intended to update participants on the latest updates in the gene therapy of children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). It will host 4 regionally recognized speakers: Dr. Abeer Hani will discuss an overview of the diagnosis and treatment of SMA and Dr. Andre Megarbane will discuss the genetics of SMA. Then, Dr. Khalid Ibrahim will discuss the treatment of SMA and describe the global management access program that allows our patients to benefit from the new gene therapy for SMA. After that, Dr. Leila Ali Akbar Bastaki will present the Kuwait experience with gene therapy. This will be followed by a panel discussion with all speakers.
