a. Committee on Human Subject Research (CHSR)
The Lebanese American University (LAU) established in 2008, as part of its educational and research mandate, the Committee on Human Subject Research (CHSR). The responsibility of this committee is to review and approve research projects involving human subjects conducted at LAU and the University Medical Center – Rizk Hospital (UMCRH).

b. Basic Science Research Program
The basic science research laboratories will occupy the two top floors of the medical school building (see Facilities). These laboratories will include over 1,800 square meters of wet laboratory space, and will be equipped with the latest technologies for performing world-class biomedical research. With room for about 20 principal investigators, the laboratories will also contain office space, conference rooms, and space for support persons, post-graduate students and research fellows.

d. Inflammation Research Group (IRG)
Established in 2009 at the LAU School of Medicine, the IRG is a multidisciplinary research group in which clinical and basic scientists conduct internationally recognized research to identify molecular targets and to deliver translational research benefits in the field of inflammation.
