Dr. Ruzanna Petrosyan is an Assistant Professor at the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine. She is a highly accomplished pathologist and medical educator, holding a PhD in Anatomical Pathology and a Master’s Degree in Health Professions Education. With 25 years of experience in teaching and academic leadership, Dr. Petrosyan is deeply committed to advancing undergraduate medical education and promoting excellence within the learning environment. Her educational philosophy centers on creating student-centered, interactive, and engaging learning experiences. She has introduced and integrated numerous innovative teaching approaches and formative assessment methods that enhance learner motivation, critical thinking, and active participation. Dr. Petrosyan is also actively engaged in research. She has supervised multiple postgraduate trainees who have successfully completed Master’s and PhD degrees under her mentorship. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications in the fields of pathology and medical education and serves as an active member of several national and international pathology societies. Her primary research interests include chronic diseases, particularly gastrointestinal and cardiovascular disorders, as well as burn wound healing. She has presented her research at international conferences and has contributed to publications in respected scientific journals. In addition to her expertise in pathology and medical education, Dr. Petrosyan has a growing professional interest in the integration of artificial intelligence in medical education. She has successfully completed the requirements of AI Starter Kit Professional Certificate and is committed to exploring the use of emerging technologies to support effective, modern learning strategies. Dr. Petrosyan considers her greatest professional achievement to be her enduring dedication to educating and mentoring future generations of medical professionals.
