Preparing for the Unpredictable - Lessons from the Beirut Explosion

Welcome Message

Dear colleagues,

In today’s world, being prepared to handle large scale disasters is key. In our training and practice, we generally account for small-scale emergencies and disasters but the possibility of large-scale calamities are rarely addressed.

We invite you to participate to this webinar to help focus our skills and deepen our understanding on how to deal with large-scale events. The aim of the webinar is to discuss logistics, review team preparations, and use simulation education for disaster management.

The webinar will feature leaders in the field of anesthesiology from both Lebanon and overseas. It is our honor to host Dr. Wayne Morriss - President-Elect of the World Federation of Societies of anaesthesiologists (WFSA), Dr. Marzia Corini-from the Collaborating Centre for Training and Research in Emergency & Disaster Medicine (CRIMEDIM) in Italy, Dr. David Marrache from the Hôpital Européen Georges-Pompidou in France and Dr. Marc Lazarovici - President of the Society in Europe for Simulation and Applied to Medicine (SESAM)  who will participate to expand our knowledge on the topic. In addition, colleagues from various local hospitals will share their experiences in dealing with the events that ensued the August 4 Beirut port explosion.

We thank the unwavering support of the Pan Arab Federation of Societies of Anesthesia (PAFSA) and the Lebanese Society of Anesthesiologists (LSA) who endorsed and supported our webinar.

We look forward to your participation, click here to register for free.
