We are happy to inform you that the Lebanese American University Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine Division of Psychiatry in collaboration with the Department of Social & Education Sciences, Psychology Program are organizing the symposium “Mind-Body Harmony: Navigating Anxiety in the Realm of Medicine” at the LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital and online via the WebEx platform. The Lebanese Order of Physicians awarded 3 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits for participating in the entire day.
This symposium aims to explore the intricate relationship between psychological and physical aspects of anxiety and somatic disorders. It features lively discussions, case studies, and interactive activities to address the impact of these disorders on individuals and dispel cultural misconceptions. Attendees will gain a profound understanding of anxiety’s somatic symptoms and their impact. The initiative seeks to raise awareness, leading to accurate diagnoses, empathetic healthcare, and an improved quality of life for those affected by anxiety’s complexities and physiological effects. The intended audience comprises all LAU students, faculty, and staff, particularly those from the schools of Medicine, Arts and Sciences (Psychology), Pharmacy, and Nursing, as well as individuals working at the LAU Medical Centers. Additionally, invitations will be extended to the Lebanese Order of Physicians and the Lebanese Psychological Association. All individuals with an interest in this topic are also invited to attend this conference.
