The Division of Rheumatology at the Lebanese American University Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine is pleased to announce the symposium “Psoriatic Disease: What’s New?” taking place at the LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital and online via the WebEx platform on Friday, February 16, 2024. This symposium is proudly endorsed by the Lebanese Society of Rheumatology.

Psoriasis is a chronic, inflammatory, and systemic disease impacting 125 million people worldwide, comprising 2–3% of the total population. More prevalent in women and younger patients, it’s associated with higher rates of comorbidities such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, metabolic syndrome, and depression. Psoriatic arthritis affects 30% of individuals with psoriasis, and its severity is measured by its impact on quality of life, with nearly one-quarter experiencing moderate to severe cases.
