Organized by the Division of Rheumatology within the Department of Internal Medicine at the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine, this scientific symposium “From Inflammation to Implication: Where Joints and Hearts Converge” will bring together world-renowned national and international experts to explore the evolving connections between systemic rheumatologic diseases and cardiovascular health.
The program will highlight key developments across a spectrum of topics, including the distinction between autoinflammation and autoimmunity, the cardiac implications of Familial Mediterranean Fever, the impact of gout and hyperuricemia on cardiovascular risk, and the emerging diagnostic and therapeutic landscape of ATTR amyloidosis.
The objectives of this symposium:
- Analyze the mechanisms linking systemic rheumatologic diseases with cardiovascular risk, distinguishing between autoinflammatory and autoimmune pathways.
- Evaluate emerging diagnostic and therapeutic advances in FMF, gout, and ATTR amyloidosis to improve patient outcomes.
