Dr. Alain Sayad is a distinguished specialist in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition, with a particular focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and functional abdominal pain. He holds an M.D. degree from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon, and completed his postgraduate training in Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Hospital in New York, U.S.A. Dr. Sayad further specialized with fellowship training in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the University of Texas, Children’s Hospital of Dallas, Texas, U.S.A. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. Dr. Sayad’s professional and research interests are centered on advancing the understanding and treatment of pediatric gastrointestinal conditions, with a commitment to improving patient care and outcomes.

At the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine, Dr. Sayad contributes significantly to the pediatric clerkship program by leveraging his clinical and research expertise. His involvement ensures that students receive hands-on experience in managing complex pediatric cases, particularly those related to gastroenterology. Dr. Sayad’s role allows him to integrate current research findings into clinical practice, offering students a comprehensive view of the latest advancements in pediatric care.
