Patient Care

Alfred Khoury, MD

Clinical Assistant Professor
Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Trauma

I embarked on my career in medicine with the goal of entering the field of Sports Medicine. I have a special interest in minimally invasive surgical procedures for athletes as well as arthroscopic management of knee injuries. I have spent a substantial amount of time on the field with athletes, even traveling with national teams in many sporting disciplines. The ultimate purpose of each day of my work is to return the young healthy population of athletes to their previous level of play after injury; this particularly applies to professional athletes whose livelihood depends on optimal function. I have been an invited speaker at many scientific meetings devoted to Sports Medicine, where I shared my experience and presented the results of my surgical management of sports injuries. I also maintain a busy clinical practice along with teaching activities at LAU Medical Center - Rizk Hospital, where I train residents in arthroscopic techniques and in treatment of specific sports-related injuries of the musculoskeletal system. Finally, I teach students who are pursuing the Masters degree in Sports Rehabiliation, at two universities in Lebanon.
