Charbel Ghosn, MD

Clinical Instructor
Department of Internal Medicine
Division of Emergency Medicine

Dr. Charbel Ghosn is Clinical Instructor at the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine, and he practices at LAU Medical Center-Saint Johns’ Hospital and LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital in the Emergency Department.

He obtained his M.D. degree in general medicine from the Lebanese University in 2006.  At that time, despite his interest, emergency medicine specialty training was not available; however he was able to gain exposure to the specialty as a resident medical doctor and became fascinated by the emergency workflow.

He then obtained an internal-medicine specialty degree from the Lebanese University in 2009, and he continued to work in the emergency department, in parallel to his work on the medical wards.
As time passed, Dr. Ghosn realized that the emergency department was the workplace setting where he wanted to spend the rest of his career. He completed multiple certificate and training courses in order to augment his qualifications as an emergency physician, including the following:  General Emergency Medicine training at Saint Georges Hospital in Beirut; ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certification; and diplomas in Difficult Airway Management and Surgical Airway Management.
While working as an attending physician in the Emergency Department of LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital, Dr. Ghosn had the opportunity to further enhance his qualifications by enrolling in the emergency-medicine residency program, which he completed in 2020 under the auspices of the School of Medicine.
Dr. Ghosn sums up his outlook on life and his profession thus: “I find my work motivating and I love taking care of people. I know my job and I always find something new to learn.”
