1930’s Philips Tube Head
Ref. P1
With a length of 85 cm, this English-made fully protected tube head was removed in the late seventies from a still functional manually tilting table X-ray unit dating back to the late thirties.

The tube insert is similar to the equally English-made Philips Metalix 1935 tube in the picture above, delivering up to 100 kV and 100 mA for a total output of 6 kW.
This tube combination was forced-air-cooled by the noisy suction pump in the black part to the left in the picture, while the air-input was through the perforated part on the right end of the unit.
