C.G.R. Microsecurix Tube-head
Ref. P4
This tube-head dates back to the late forties or early fifties of the 20th century. It contains the X-ray tube as well as the high tension transformer, both immersed in oil.
The only available specifications are those on the affixed yellow label: a focal spot size of 1.4 x 1.4 mm and a maximum output of 80kV. No mention is made of the tube current which I expect to be somewhere between 20 and 30 mA. A simple hand operated lead leaf diaphragm is visible on the underside of the unit
The operation of this tube-head was by an independent external control unit.
This item was graciously offered to the collection by Prof. George Cherfan, (Beirut Eye and ENT Specialist Hospital).
The CGR (Compagnie Générale de Radiologie) was totally acquired by GE (General Electric) in 1987.
