Pier Luigi Ingrassia, MD, PhD

Dr. Pier Luigi Ingrassia is Specialist in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, expert in Disaster Medicine, and has a PhD in Disaster Education. He is Associate Professor in Health Professions Sciences and Applied Medical Technologies until 2020, he was the founder and Scientific Director of the SIMNOVA Simulation Center at the Università del Piemonte Orientale. He currently coordinates and directs the Simulation Center (CeSi) of the Centro Professionale Sociosanitario in Lugano. He has lectured at numerous international scientific congresses and is the author of 70 research articles and books on simulation and debriefing. He is the current President of the Society of Simulation in Europe (SESAM) and Immediate Past President of the Italian Society of Medical Simulation (SIMMED). He launched the simulation event SIMCUP© and is co-founder of the SIMEDITA publishing house as well as Editorial Director of SIMZINE©.
