Objectives
Pathophysiology and Risk Factors: Understand the underlying mechanisms of atrial fibrillation and identify common risk factors, including hypertension, heart disease, and systemic comorbidities.
Diagnosis and Classification: Apply clinical tools to diagnose AF, differentiate between paroxysmal, persistent, and permanent AF, and assess stroke risk using scoring systems such as CHA₂DS₂-VASc.
Management Strategies: Develop evidence-based treatment plans, including rate or rhythm control strategies, anticoagulation therapy for stroke prevention, and the role of catheter ablation or device therapy.
Patient-Centered Care and Long-Term Monitoring: Implement patient-specific approaches to AF management, emphasizing lifestyle modifications, comorbidity management, and strategies for long-term rhythm monitoring and recurrence prevention.
