Date May 14, 2025
Presenter Dr. Righab Hamdan
Moderator Dr. Robert Fakhoury

Objectives

Pathophysiology and Classification: Understand the underlying mechanisms of CHF and differentiate between heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).

Diagnosis and Risk Stratification: Apply clinical guidelines to diagnose CHF using symptoms, biomarkers (e.g., BNP/NT-proBNP), and imaging (e.g., echocardiography), and stratify patients by severity and prognosis.

Comprehensive Management Strategies: Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacological therapies (e.g., ACE inhibitors, beta-blockers, SGLT2 inhibitors), device therapy, and lifestyle modifications to optimize outcomes.

Prevention and Long-Term Care: Implement strategies to prevent disease progression and hospital readmissions, including patient education, adherence to evidence-based guidelines, and multidisciplinary care approaches.
