Dr. Bassel Abouzeid is an American board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist with comprehensive expertise in women’s health, obstetrical care, and advanced gynecologic surgery. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois in the United States, where he developed a strong foundation in both academic and clinical practice. He further pursued advanced training in minimally invasive gynecology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and Wake Forest University Hospital in North Carolina, refining his expertise in laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques. Complementing his clinical training, Dr. Abouzeid earned a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management (MHCM) from the École des Hautes Études en Santé Publique (EHESP) in France. Dr. Abouzeid provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, offering personalized and evidence-based management for women throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. He has a particular focus on minimally invasive and robotic gynecology, and is highly skilled in performing complex laparoscopic and robotic procedures for conditions such as uterine broids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, and pelvic pain. His surgical approach prioritizes precision, patient safety, faster recovery, and reduced postoperative discomfort. Throughout his medical training, Dr. Abouzeid received multiple national recognitions in the United States for excellence in gynecologic surgery and reproductive medicine. These honors include the Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Award from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the Outstanding Minimally Invasive Resident Award from the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons, and the Excellence in Reproductive Infertility Award from the Society of Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Abouzeid remains actively involved in academic research with a focus on surgical innovation, robotic gynecology, and healthcare management. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications addressing gynecologic surgical outcomes and cost-effectiveness in different healthcare systems. Through his roles as a clinician, educator, and researcher, Dr. Abouzeid is committed to advancing the field of obstetrics and gynecology while continuously improving the quality of care delivered to women across all stages of life.
