Philips Small Size Rotating Anode Tube

Ref. K5

Two similar small size German made Philips rotating anode tubes (1970) equipping the ROTA-PRACTIX mobile X-ray unit, delivering 100mA at 60 kV, and 60mA at 100 kV (although the tube is rated 125 kV on the yellow label). The particular feature of this tube is its reduced size.  See the picture of this tube with its 2” (5 cm) rotating anode disc, compared to a relatively large size rotating anode tube., where the anode disc measures 5” (12.5 cm).

The cover on the cathode end of the tube in the middle row picture houses the filament connections. Note the two parallel filaments of this tube, with a discontinuity in the longer filament corresponding to the large focus.
