Shimadzu Circlex Tube

Ref. K9

This CIRCLEX rotating anode tube is of the classical type, running 150 kV Maximum, with two focal spots measuring respectively 0.6 and 1.2 sq. mm.

This tube has however been totally destroyed by interior high tension sparking (also called arcing) between the active elements and the glass wall. The two lower pictures show important fissures of the glass wall as well as several networks of minute fissures in the surrounding areas.

With the interior sparking there are often minute piercings, often invisible, of the glass wall through which the tube loses its vacuum.
