Objectives

Pathophysiology and Etiology: Understand the underlying mechanisms of acute and chronic pancreatitis and identify common causes such as gallstones, alcohol use, hypertriglyceridemia, and medications.

Diagnosis and Severity Assessment: Apply diagnostic criteria for pancreatitis using clinical features, serum markers (e.g., amylase, lipase), and imaging studies, and classify severity based on guidelines like the Revised Atlanta Classification.

Acute Management Protocols: Develop evidence-based treatment plans for acute pancreatitis, including fluid resuscitation, pain management, nutritional support, and addressing complications such as necrosis or organ failure.

Chronic Management and Prevention: Implement long-term strategies to manage chronic pancreatitis, focusing on pain control, pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy, and addressing modifiable risk factors to prevent recurrence.
