Objectives

Etiology and Risk Factors: Identify the common pathogens causing UTIs and understand patient-specific risk factors, including age, comorbidities, and anatomical abnormalities.

Diagnosis and Classification: Differentiate between uncomplicated and complicated UTIs, pyelonephritis, and recurrent infections using clinical criteria, urinalysis, and urine culture results.

Evidence-Based Treatment: Develop tailored treatment strategies based on infection type, antimicrobial resistance patterns, and patient-specific factors, emphasizing appropriate antibiotic stewardship.

Prevention and Recurrence Management: Implement preventive measures, such as lifestyle modifications, prophylactic antibiotics, and non-antibiotic therapies, to reduce UTI recurrence, particularly in high-risk populations.
