Mohamad S. Jaafar, MD, FACS, FAAP
Mohamad S. Jaafar, MD is presently the Dorothy, Jay, Kara and Mark Weinstein Professor and Chairman Emeritus of Ophthalmology at the Children’s National Hospital, and Professor of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics at the George Washington University. He chairs the Advisory Board of the International Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Council and serves on the Board of the International Strabismological Association and other boards. He is a member of several Ophthalmology organizations and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He has received the Lifetime Achievement Award of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the Senior Achievement Award of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Professional Achievement Award of the Prevention of Blindness Society of the Washington Metropolitan Area, and the Children’s National Sauber Award for Medical Excellence.
Jamal Bleik, MD, FRCSEd, FRCOphth
Jamal Bleik, MD is Clinical Professor and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine, the Lebanese American University, Beirut, Lebanon.
Dr. Bleik is currently a member of the Advisory Board of the International Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Council. He holds numerous academic titles and honors in Ophthalmology. He was Professor and Chief of Ophthalmology, Lebanese University (2000-2020), Chairman of the Arab Board of Ophthalmology (2011-2019), President of the Lebanese Ophthalmological Society (2013-2015), and Secretary General of the Middle East and Africa Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Society - MEACO (2012-2018).
Dr. Bleik has special clinical and research interest in strabismus, pediatric ophthalmology and pediatric cataracts and is a frequent invited speaker in numerous Arab countries.
Ama Sadaka, MD
Ama Sadaka, MD, received her Medical Degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. Thereafter, she completed a research fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston, MA, a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati, OH, and a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital, Houston, TX, where she also trained in oculoplastics. After completing her training in the USA, she returned to her home country, Lebanon, and joined the Lebanese American University Medical Center - Rizk Hospital, in Beirut, as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and residency program director.
